Women still face untold challenges in the human society, which is still under male dominance and discrimination in many areas. The Archdiocese recognizes the unique contribution offered by the womenfolk in various areas of the Archdiocese. It also realizes that there are needs which are particular to the Catholic women as women. Because of this, there is an Association that brings together all Catholic Women and it offers them pastoral care as women.

The election/selection of an animator for women starts from each Small Christian Community and goes up to the Diocesan level. The Leadership of the Catholic Women Association comprises of the following:

  1. The Chairlady
  2. The Vice Chairlady
  3. The Secretary
  4. The Organizing Secretary
  5. The Treasurer

This Association of Catholic Women has a Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. George Omondi IMC (Photo will be provided) . He is helped by the following 5 (five) Diocesan CWA Leaders (Photos will be provided). Some of our Deaneries with enough personnel have other priests in charge of CWA at the Deanery levels.

Every Catholic woman is free to join this Association of Catholic Women, even if they at the same time belong to other Devotional Groups. It is NOT MANDATORY to belong to the CWA but is HIGHLY encouraged to be a member. Why not register to be a member in your Parish CWA?

Every year, the Archbishop celebrates an annual Mass with the Catholic Women on the Feast of the Assumption, 15th August (Photos will be provided). During these celebrations, it is now an annual practice of the CWA to raise funds for the training of our Seminarians.
